Since I have been home I have had a little more time to read, which I love to do! So, I decided to look up some recommendations on whats popular. I personally read whatever interests me! I don’t tend to stick with a particular genre or author. I think that is because there are just so many amazing and great books out there in all different types of genres and written by different authors….so I want to try expand my knowledge in different areas. I came across this article “24 Books That Are So Funny, You’ll Look Like The Crying-Laughing Emoji While You’re Reading” and thought it was so helpful and great! I pasted the link above…I will for sure be purchasing some of these books!
HOOOOWWWWWW FUUUNNNNNYYYY. I was scrolling through TikTok the other day and found this video. I thought it was HIILLLARIOUSS! These two girls were making a tiktok of them dancing and it was interrupted by a mail carrier on her daily route, and her reaction was pure delight and adorable! Afterwards, the mail carrier decided to come back and film a dance with them. Right now they have 3 videos all together, but this one is my favorite!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! As it is May 5th, i thought it was very appropriate to give a little bit of some fun Cinco de Mayo remix music along with an article about the history of this day! What I learned reading in this article are the top 7 ways Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Did you know that 59% of Americans eat Mexican food on this day? I know will be later today! Eating food, dancing and being with family and friends is always so much fun. Let’s celebrate this special day along with the amazing culture! FIESSTTTAAAAA!
Jeremy Cohen looked out his window in New York City and saw his neighbor Tori Cignarella dancing on the roof of her apartment building next door. Cohen knew he had to say hi, so he waved. Who knew a wave could start so much… Cohen decided to make the first romantic move and he grabbed is drone and wrote his phone number on a piece of paper. Then he taped the paper to the drone and flew it to her. Cignarella receives his number and texted him. After texting for a while Cohen worked with Cignarella’s roommate to set yo a surprise dinner on her roof. As we are all social distancing, Cohen follows the rule and decided to purchase a inflatable plastic bubble that he wore walking around and even to their second date. I thought this was so creative!! I cannot wait to see what else Cohen comes up with!
Have you ever wondered what the most expensive foods in the world are..? Well… You’re in luck! This video opened my mind and made my realize that there is a whole range of food products that have price tags i have never imaged possible! For example, I have never even heard of Swedish Moose Cheese until watching this video, but what SHOCKED me as the price. $200 per pound for Swedish Moose Cheese…$200!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?! I went and did a bit more research on Moose Cheese to understand why the price is so high. This is one of the most expensive cheeses in the world and can only be produced in ONE place..on the Moose House farm in Sweden. Moose Cheese is hard to get as it is made in very limited quantities.
Wow! What an interesting article this is. The Pentagon has officially released videos of what they believe to be UFO’s. One of the videos in this article was taken in 2004 by two pilots who observed the encounter. The pilots described seeing an oblong object about 40 feet long hovering about 50 feet above the water. Apparently when they approached the object it rapidly went into the air and out of sight. In 2017, one of the pilots who saw the object in 2004 said “It moved in ways I couldn’t explain.. It accelerated like nothing i’ve ever seen.” Take a look at both of these articles.. they are worth the read!
There’s a serious chicken sandwich war that’s been happening since the launch of Popeyes new chicken sandwich. For my personal review, I can say I have tried both and I am not disappointed with either. The biggest thing I noticed between the two sandwiches was the size and quality of chicken. The Popeyes sandwich towers over the Chick-fil-A one. The chicken in the Popeyes sandwich is crispy and thick, as if it tastes way more like real chicken compared to Chick-fil-A’s sandwich which is more like a fried chicken patty. Regardless, both are good and I for sure recommended giving each a try! In the end I believe it boils down to preference and you can truly NOT go wrong with either 🙂
Have you ever heard of Second Life? Let me tell you about it…Second Life is an online world where people can create virtual representations of themselves, called avatars, and interact with one another. Second Life avatars are able to create buildings, objects and even animations. Although it’s on online, it’s influence reaches into the real world. Avatars are able to go to social gatherings, live concerts, press conferences and even some college classes. They can buy land, shop for clothes or just visit with friends. What sounded really fun to me is in Second Life avatars can fly or teleport to almost any location. Want to see how Second Life works? Watch this YouTube video giving a peek into the virtual world of Second Life!
There is a specific scene that stood out to me as one of the most impressive aspects of the film.
Around the 40-minute mark in the movie, Ally (Lady Gaga) joins Jackson (Bradley Cooper) on stage to sing the song they wrote together “Shallow.” Before she joins him, it takes Jackson a lot of convincing for Ally to come on stage, but once she does “Shallow” is considered to be Ally’s breakout performance in the movie.
What is done so differently in this scene compared to the rest of the movie/ movies I have watched, is a lot of concert movies film from the audience’s perspective, focusing more on the stage show. But this scene of Ally and Jack singing was shot live at an actual music venue in front of a real audience (shot at Greek Theater), thereby creating the real concert feel. The camera focuses on Ally and Jackson’s performance from a backstage point of view instead of from the audience’s point, giving an authentic and intimate feel to the viewer. This seems as it allowed the film to stay subjective with the characters, Jackson and Ally, giving the audience a feel of what it would be like to be on stage as a person, like the viewer is really there being able to connect and focus on this experience of Ally and Jackson.
One of the film directors’ comments in an interview saying “We needed to make (Cooper’s) Jackson Maine a real character, especially leading up to that performance of ‘Shallow” where Lady Gaga comes on stage for the first time. I wanted that to be a moment that propels us into the story, and so I created an arc visually for that. It is a mix of colours, and then it becomes a sort of magenta. And then I wanted to go to white light at the very end because it would be a metaphor for sobriety.
Sounds and colors are very important to detail in movies, colors are able to show meaning without having to express any words, just like the director used a white light to show a metaphor for sobriety. Sounds have the ability to put the viewer in place. When it comes to a movie, even the tiniest sounds can have big impacts. In this particular scene, there is sound behind the stage, on the stage, and also into the audience. The sounds were layered, mixed and edited to allow movie theater viewers to feel they were a part of a live audience. The depth and echo added into the vocals sounds brought the audio mix to life, allowing the viewers to actually feel as they are at the show.
WOW! What a PERFORMANCE. There is a lot of discussion on Lady Gaga’s contribution to the movie industry, but she is definitely worth this watch. In this, her first movie, Lady Gaga has given an Oscar winning performance. Gaga is not only an incredible singer, her acting is very good and natural as well. Director and CO-star Bradley Cooper surprises us all with his INCREDIBLE voice and talented acting. Watching this movie, you could tell that both are very invested in their characters and the story itself.
A famous country music singer, Jackson Maine (played by Bradley Cooper), is privately battling an alcohol and drug addiction. After Jackson plays a concert in California, he visits a drag bar and meets a waitress and singer-songwriter, Ally (played by Lady Gaga). When Ally sings at the bar, Jackson immediately notices her talent as a singer and songwriter. He is amazed by her performance.
Jackson arranges for the two of them to meet in her dressing room. They spend the night talking to each other during which Jackson invited her to perform with him at his next concert. Ally performs, and after the concert Jackson invites her to go on tour with him. They begin to collaborate musically and start to form a romantic relationship.
One day, Jackson brought Ally to the ranch where he grew up and where his father is buried, only to find that Bobby (Jackson’s brother and manager) had sold the land. Angered, Jackson punches Bobby feeling that Bobby betrayed him. The two get in a heated argument, Bobby then quits working as Jackson’s manager.
Ally meets a record producer who wants to sign her to his label. Jackson doesn’t like the idea but supports her choice to join the label. Over the next few months, Ally’s career skyrockets in the music industry while Jackson’s career deteriorates as he increasingly struggles with his alcoholism.
While Ally is taking a bath, a very drunk Jackson starts to criticize her and call her ugly names. Ally angrily throws Jackson out.
Ally is nominated for three Grammy Awards. At the Grammys, Halsey awards the Best New Artist Grammy to Ally. When Ally goes up to give her acceptance speech, Jackson drunkenly stumbles onstage next to Ally, pisses himself and immediately faints.
Jackson subsequently enters a rehab program and attends weekly group AA meetings. When Ally visits him, Jackson tearfully apologizes for his actions. When Jackson comes home, Ally would like Jackson to join her for her upcoming tour to revive his career, but her record producer says that is out of the question. In a private conversation, the producer tells Jackson he should stay away from Ally because he is going to drag her down with his behavior.
Ally tells Jackson that she is canceling her tour so they can spend the summer together. Jackson promises he will go to her last concert and try to stay sober.
I’ll stop here, you NEED to see the film!
This film is extremely engaging and powerful. It will suck you in from the beginning.
